Monday Qigong Class

The next term is starting Monday 13th January 2025.Â

1pm-2pm
The Float Spa
125 Church Rd
Hove

We are in the beautiful new venue of The Float Spa in Hove, upstairs in their main studio. The Float Spa recently moved into the old HSBC building on Church Road and have transformed it into a haven of stillness and wellbeing.

This class is open to beginners, places subject to availability. We will focusing on simple yet powerful Qigong movements and Tai Chi foundational movements to build a stable core of relaxed strength within the body. It’s not necessary to attend this class if you wish to just learn the full Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form, but over the years I have seen that people who learn and spend time getting these foundations into their body tend to progress in the full form much better.

We will be opening the body with gentle but focused movements and learning the importance of keeping our ‘four points’ together, shifting weight and turning while keeping our hips level, sinking chi within the body, standing and dissolving as well as some Qigong forms such as Cloud Hands, The Marriage of Heaven and Earth, and The Willow Tree form.

Come along and gain a real experience of Chi, feel it in and around your body, move it with focus and intent, understand the power of our vital energy field.

We don’t usually run the classes during school holidays or bank holidays, and the cost of the 10 weeks is £100. Any dates that the classes aren’t running in this current term will be listed below:

We are in the beautiful new venue of The Float Spa in Hove, upstairs in their main studio. The Float Spa recently moved into the old HSBC building on Church Road and have transformed it into a haven of stillness and wellbeing.

This class is open to beginners, places subject to availability. In this class we will be learning the Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form with a focus on health and vitality. It is especially good for helping and healing the back and spine, whilst also being great for overall wellbeing.

It is not required to attend the previous Qigong class in order to attend this one, but it is recommended where possible. Over the years I have seen huge improvements in students who attend both classes compared to those who just learn the form. As I say, it’s not necessary to attend the first class, you will still learn all you need to practice the Wu Style Short Form, but you would feel the benefits of Tai Chi faster if you attend both.

The Wu Style Short Form consists of 16 movements that can be performed in around 5 minutes, making it perfect for the busy lives we all seem to live these days. It was created to provide the maximum amount of internal movement, relaxed strength development and soft healing with the minimum amount of external movement. It is a really powerful form that can be done at any age and can benefit people of all ages.

We don’t usually run classes on school holidays or bank holidays, and the cost of the 10 weeks is £100. Any dates that the classes aren’t running in this current term will be listed below:
