About The Class

This class is open to beginners and places are subject to availability. We will be focusing on powerful yet gentle Qigong movements and foundational Tai Chi movements to build a stable basis of relaxed strength within the body. It’s not necessary to attend this class if you wish to just learn the full Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form, but over the years I have seen that people who spend time learning these movements progress in the full form much better and faster.

We will be opening the body with gentle yet specific movements and learning the importance of shifting weight & turning while keeping our hips level, keeping our ‘four points’ together, standing and dissolving, sinking chi within the body as well as some Qigong forms such as Cloud Hands, The Marriage of Heaven and Earth The Willow Tree form and the 8 Brocades.

About The Class

This class is open to beginners and places are subject to availability. In this class we will be learning the Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form with a focus on health and vitality. It is especially good for helping and healing the back and spine, whilst also being great for overall wellbeing.

It is not necessary to attend the previous Qigong and Tai Chi Foundations class in order to attend this one, but it is recommended where possible. Over the years I have seen how much better students who attend both classes progress compared to those who just learn the form. As I say, it’s not a requirement to attend the first class, you will still learn all you need to practice the Wu Style Short Form, but you will progress faster if you do.

The Wu Style Short Form consists of 16 gentle yet precise movements that can be performed in around 5 minutes, making it perfect for people with busy lives, as we all seem to have these days. It was created to provide the most internal movement, relaxed strength development and soft healing with the minimum amount of external movement. It is a very effective form that can be done at any age and can benefit people of all ages.
