We are in the spacious Church Hall at St Leonards on Cambridge Road. They have a car park that can fit 8 cars (first come first served) and is just on the edge of the parking zone D in Horsham, but the zone ends on Elm Grove, just a street or two away, and there’s a nice cut-through pathway from Elm Grove to Cambridge Road.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes, this class is open to beginners, places subject to availability. We will focusing on simple yet powerful Qigong (also known as Chi Kung) movements and Tai Chi foundational movements to build a stable core of relaxed strength within the body. It’s not necessary to attend this class if you wish to just learn the full Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form, but over the years I have seen that people who learn and spend time getting these foundations into their body tend to progress in the full form much better.

We will be opening the body with gentle but focused movements and learning the importance of keeping our ‘four points’ together, shifting weight and turning while keeping our hips level, sinking chi within the body, standing and dissolving as well as some Qigong forms such as Cloud Hands, The Marriage of Heaven and Earth, and The Willow Tree form.

We run this class in 10 week terms all throughout the year and the cost of the 10 weeks is £90.

We practice in our Tai Chi venue at the spacious St Leonard’s Church Hall on Cambridge Road. Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes, this class is open to beginners, places are subject to availability. In this Tai Chi class we will be learning the Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form with a focus on health and vitality. It is especially good for helping and healing the back and spine, whilst also being great for overall wellbeing.

It is not required to attend the previous Qigong class in order to attend this one, but it is recommended where possible. Over the years I have seen huge improvements in students who attend both classes compared to those who just learn the form. As I say, it’s not necessary to attend the first class, you will still learn all you need to practice the Wu Style Short Form, but you would feel the benefits of Tai Chi faster if you attend both.

The Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form develops internal forces and consists of 16 movements that can be performed in around 5 minutes, making it perfect for the busy lives we all seem to live these days. It was created to provide the maximum amount of internal movement, relaxed strength development and soft healing with the minimum amount of external movement. It is a really powerful Tai Chi form that can be done at any age and can benefit people of all ages. Whilst it can be done for self defence, we practice for the health benefits of Tai Chi. The movements are peaceful and aesthetically pleasing, as well as being powerful on a deeper level.

We run this class in 10-week terms all throughout the year and the cost of the 10 weeks is £90.
